Is it smart to gamble on Friday the 13th?

When you suffer from paraskavedekatriaphobia you probably know which day it is: Friday the 13th. Maybe it’s not such a good idea to gamble today. Or do you think it doesn’t matter and you can even be lucky on this so-called unfortunate day? We’re curious what’s all the fuzz about and did some research.

Why is the number 13 unlucky?

The number 13 often is seen as an unlucky number. Many hospitals have no room 13, while some tall buildings skip the 13th floor. There are a few possible explanations for the fear for the number 13. There were 13 people at the last supper and the 13th person who took his seat was either Judas or Jesus. Something completely different: women menstruate about 13 times a year, that’s 13 times going through hell. Even some schools of numerology verify the bad luck for number 13. It follows after 12, which stands for perfection.

Whatever your beliefs are, the chances to be lucky on Friday the 13th are actually the same as on any other day. So when you feel lucky, go for it! And when you’re maybe feeling a little bit paraskavedekatriaphobic, just stay in bed and be careful today.
