Aloha Cluster Pays transformed into Christmas slot
Swedish iGaming slot developer NetEnt has transformed its classic Aloha! Cluster Pays into a Holiday slot, rebranding the spin-off as Aloha! Christmas.
The new game has retained much of the original look and theme with one of the few differences being the Christmas twist. In the game, players are introduced to the familiar Hawaiian setting of the original, played out against a 6-reel and 6-row grid. Aloha! Christmas retains the original Cluster Pays mechanic which replaces paylines with ‘clusters’ of loosely associated symbols.
NetEnt has made sure to rely on many other player-favourite mechanics including but not limited to Sticky Re-Spins, Mystery and Multiplier Wilds, and additional gameplay treats, the company has shared in a press release.
To boost the winning potential of the game further, the studio has enhanced the gameplay with the Tiki Bar Free Spins and Tiki Bar Max Free Spins, which come on top of the base game and expand the opportunities for a boosted win.
Overall, Aloha! Christmas offers a solid 96% RTP and positions itself successfully to appeal to Christmas enthusiasts in the warmer climates. Conversely, the slot brings a bit of warmth to those caught in the winter snows, cold and dark winter days.
Commenting on the release, NetEnt’s Director of Games, Carl Ejlertsson, said that the game is one of the highest-praised titles in the company’s own hall of fame. Ejlertsson said that NetEnt has sought to combine proven gameplay elements such as the classic Cluster Pay mechanic with a few new twists that fit and boost the experience for everyone.
NetEnt Continues Building up the Slot Experience
Late in November, NetEnt introduced more portfolio-defining changes, securing a partnership with Big Time Gaming (BTG) for the latter’s bespoke slot mechanic, Megaways. The pair have teamed up to improve on Divine Fortune, a player favourite jackpot slot by NetEnt, and add the Megaways mechanics.
As a result, players may now enjoy the familiar Greek mythology-themed game, but with a twist of Megaways. The potential win in the upgraded game includes a 4502x multiplier, and the title comes with numerous excellent features, including Falling Wilds Re-Spins, Wild-on-Wild Expansion, and Bonus Spins.
A Shake-up in the NetEnt Live Division
Since Tuesday this week, NetEnt is officially the property of Evolution Gaming, an established provider of live casino solutions with a strong position on the European, American and Latin American markets.
As a result of the acquisition, NetEnt was informed that the company’s Live Division is shutting down effective immediately. The quick reorganization of operation caused power outage across the entire NetEnt portfolio throughout most of Tuesday, but access to the company’s product was restored in the evening.
Meanwhile, some 300 employees have been made redundant on the same day, as Evolution is looking to strengthen its own position worldwide amid soaring financial results.
NetEnt has had several Megaways announcements this year, including one featuring another classic choice, Gonzo’s Classic, and Twin Spin Megaways just a few weeks ago. The company remains on track to reach its yearly targets for new slot releases.
